The streaming landscape in Britain is about to get even bigger with the arrival of Paramount+ UK in June 2022. Launching on 22 June, the service will be home to movies and TV for kids and adults and will have its own standalone app, as well as being available to Sky Cinema subscribers via that service's platform.

There's a hefty slate of TV and movie offerings on the new service for its launch, headlined by the blockbuster Halo TV series and a selection of South Park specials. Viewers will also get to delve into the world of New Hollywood with limited series The Offer, which explores the making of The Godfather.

Meanwhile, Tom Cruise fans still basking in the glow of Top Gun: Maverick can see two of his more recent action outings, with Jack Reacher and the franchise highlight Mission: Impossible — Fallout.

Here's what you can find on Paramount+ UK in June (everything is arriving on launch day, unless stated)...

New movies coming to Paramount+ UK in June

Jerry & Marge Go Large

In the 2000s, retired maths whizz Jerry Selbee discovered a loophole in the workings of his state lottery. With the help of his wife Marge, he parlayed that into a hugely successful money-making scheme, making the most of the ways similar lotteries worked in other states to win millions of dollars. Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening play the couple in this based-on-truth comedy, helmed by The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel.

As you'd expect given the title, this also provides creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with a way to explore the various competing streaming services battling for the attention of viewers.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe (24 June)

Mike Judge returns to his classic 90s slacker characters in feature-length animated adventure Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe. The sci-fi setting sends the title characters into space as part of an ill-conceived PR move. They're soon transported to a parallel universe version of 2022 through a wormhole, sparking exactly the sort of puerile chaos you'd expect from Judge and his creations.

After years of speculation, video game franchise Halo finally makes the jump to the small screen with Kyle Killen and Steven Kane's series, which counts Steven Spielberg among its executive producers. Stepping into the shoes of David Bowie is no small task, but that's what awaits Bill Nighy in this new adaptation of the Walter Tevis novel. Ejiofor plays another alien arriving on Earth at a crucial moment in the planet's history, while Nighy takes on the role Bowie played in Nic Roeg's 1976 movie version. Naomie Harris plays a talented scientist who interacts with the new arrival.

Miles Teller plays Ruddy as he gets hold of the rights to Mario Puzo's mob tale and subsequently navigates the piranhas of not just Hollywood, but also the criminal underworld. The cast also includes Matthew Goode, Juno Temple and Burn Gorman, with Dan Fogler embodying Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola.

In the wake of Apple's WeCrashed, and Disney+'s The Dropout comes another series looking at a company's meteoric rise and its eccentric creators. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars here as Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and explores the boardroom coup which subsequently ousted him.

Sicario screenwriter Taylor Sheridan has joined forces with Headstones rocker Hugh Dillon for this crime thriller series, starring Jeremy Renner. Another Taylor Sheridan joint, this series serves as something of an origin story for the Kevin Costner series Yellowstone. It focuses on Western expansion and follows the Dutton family as they attempt to reach the promised land of Montana. Western specialist Sam Elliot leads the cast, alongside Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Alongside its spin-off, the first three seasons of Yellowstone will be available to stream on launch day.

All Star Shore (episode 1-2 on 30 June, then weekly)

Not a bad gig if you can get it. The cast includes Joey Essex, Chloe Ferry and cult RuPaul's Drag Race success story Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo.
