Paul Walker's daughter Meadow has confirmed she will cameo in the upcoming Fast X, as the film pays tribute to her late father.

On Instagram, Meadow shared an image of herself in the film, while describing how much it meant to her to be able to honour her father's legacy.

"The first Fast was released when I was one year old!" Meadow wrote. "I grew up on set watching my father, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris and more on the monitors. Thanks to my dad, I was born into the Fast family.

"I can’t believe now I get to be up there too. With those who have been around to see me grow up."

Meadow went on to thank the film's director Louis Leterrier, who joined the franchise for its 10th instalment and will also helm the follow-up.

She also gave a shoutout to Walker's producing partner and best friend Brandon Birtell, writing: "This wouldn’t have been possible without you."

In March, Vin Diesel revealed that the Fast franchise will give an emotional final farewell to Walker’s character Brian by the time it wraps up.

Following Walker's death during the filming of Fast & Furious 7, his character Brian retired from the team, being mentioned in subsequent movies as quietly raising his children with wife Mia.

Speaking to Total Film, Diesel said: “That moment in 2013 when the world was struggling with his loss, the studio made a very bold and righteous and daring decision to keep Brian O’Conner alive.

“I will give you this without spoiling anything: I couldn’t image this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.”

Fast X will be released in cinemas on May 19.
