Peter O'Toole Was 'Drunk And Unpleasant' On Troy Says Diane Kruger

Peter O'Toole didn’t manage to win over his ‘Troy’ co-star Diane Kruger with his legendary charm, it would seem.

The German-born actress has revealed that she found the veteran thespian and notorious hell-raiser 'unpleasant’ on-set, not to mention drunk.

Speaking in an interview with Buzzfeed, where she was grilled 'The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, he co-star in new movie 'Sky’, she let rip on the star, who died in 2013.

Asked who was the 'meanest’ actor she’d ever worked with, she said: “You know who wasn’t very pleasant, was Peter O’Toole.”

Kruger played Helen of Troy in the star-studded swords and sandals epic, which also starred Brad Pitt, with O'Toole playing the small role of Priam.

“It kind of sucked. He’s dead, so I can say that. But he wasn’t the most pleasant person. He was just a drunk, and Peter O’Toole,” she went on.

“You know, he had a two-day part, and I played Helen of Troy and he was Peter O’Toole, and he just wanted to make sure that everybody knew that he was Peter O’Toole.

“And he could barely make it up the stairs. We were on a set that was — you know, you have to climb, like, I don’t know, 100 steps to go up.

“But to work with, he was just - first of all, everybody thought he was gonna die right there and then. Because it was, you know, 120 degrees, and he had to walk up 100 stairs. And he was very old, and very drunk.”

In response, Reedus said: “You’re kind of killing Peter O’Toole for me… It’s kind of like the story of Elvis on the toilet with a peanut butter sandwich, like, I don’t wanna hear it.”

Kruger joked back: “You just asked me! He was great. You would’ve loved him! You guys would’ve, like, been drinking together and it would’ve been great.”
