Police Called After Bill Murray’s Phone Rage With Fans

Bill Murray is nothing if not unpredictable after he found himself in trouble with police after throwing adoring fans’ mobile phones from a second-story rooftop.

The incident took place at the Vesuvio restaurant in California where he was celebrating his participation in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament, when some excitable fans began to snap photos of him.

In memorable Murray fashion, the ‘Ghostbusters’ star reportedly snatched three separate phones from photo-snapping guests and threw them off of the two-story rooftop they were on.

Police were inevitably summoned but Murray had left the establishment by then. Camel’s police commander confirmed the incident involving the legendary actor took place.

“When we got there we had three people who were reporting that the subject, identified as Mr Murray, had taken their cell phones and thrown them,” they said. Two of the phones were lost but in a bizarre turn the other one landed on a cushion - what’re the odds?

According to the bar owner, Murray wasn’t even drinking and was just really annoyed people were taking photos of him. The rage seems a little out of character, especially without the addition of alcohol.

“This morning our officers contacted representatives of Mr Murray. He acknowledged that he was there and said he is willing to replace the property that was damaged.’

Perhaps Murray, now 65, is getting more short-tempered in his golden years.
