Protesters Throw Projectiles at Police Outside Corsica Government Building

Nationalist protesters threw projectiles at a police van outside a Calvi government building on the French island of Corsica on the evening of March 9, local news outlet Stampa Paese reported.

According to the local paper, around 300 people gathered outside the sub-prefecture office, with Molotov cocktails thrown toward the building and windows smashed.

This video, which shows the scene outside the office as the crowd pushed back a police vehicle, was recorded by journalist Laetitia Giannechini.

Protests broke out on the island after Yvan Colonna, an imprisoned nationalist figure, was left in a coma after an assault, France 24 said. Credit: Laetitia Giannechini via Storyful
