Renee Zellweger Denies Magazine Claim That She Talked To Penguins
Renee Zellweger cannot communicate with penguins, she’s confirmed.
Some context… back in 1998, in a cover story for Vogue magazine, it was claimed that she spoke to penguins during a trip to the zoo with the interviewer.
Asked in a more recent interview with DuJour magazine what it’s been like being pursued by journalists over decades, she said: “Someone had me talking to penguins in my own special language at the zoo.

“But we sat on a bench, we never went to the zoo!”
Defending himself, Bob Ickes, the writer who penned the feature, told Page Six: “We certainly went to the zoo.
“The article never says she was speaking in her own special language to the penguins. That would be insane.”
Digging back, the veracity of some of Ickes’ journalism has been brought into question in the past.
According to the New York Post, complaints were made at the time that the Zellweger piece was published, claiming some of the quotes were completely fabricated.
Ickes was also embroiled in another scandal over a hoax story while working at Details magazine back in 2002.
However, the fact remains… Renee Zellweger cannot communicate with penguins.
