Just in case you needed further tangible evidence of the passage of 14 years, here it is in picture form.

Director Richard Curtis was snapped by his partner, the broadcaster Emma Freud, with actress Olivia Olson just yesterday.

You will, of course, recall that she played Joanna Anderson, the schoolgirl from his 2003 rom-com ‘Love Actually’, who performed the dazzling rendition of Mariah Carey’s festive classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ which so entranced the young Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s character Sam.

“Oh hello #rednosedayactually cast member looking slightly older than she did in the original film….,” Freud captioned the shot, confirming that Olson will most definitely be appearing in the ‘sequel’ to ‘Love Actually’ that’s being made for Red Nose Day.

Olson is perhaps best known these days for voicing Marceline the Vampire Queen in the superlative ‘Adventure Time’.

She’s also Vanessa Doofenshmirtz in ‘Phineas and Ferb’, but it seems her next role will be playing the older Joanna.

Brodie-Sangster, known for his recent turn as Jojen Reed in ‘Game of Thrones’, will also be pitching up to play the reprise the role of Sam.

The ‘sequel’ will be a 10-minute short, with Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, and Liam Neeson also confirmed, along with Bill Nighy and Rowan Atkinson.

Said Curtis of the plans: “Over the years I’ve enjoyed doing Red Nose Day specials on TV things I’ve worked on – Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley, and Mr Bean.

“It seemed like a fun idea this year to do a special sketch based on one of my films, since Red Nose Day is now in both the UK and America.

“I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to do ten minutes to see what everyone is now up to.

“We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part – and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later.”

The short will air on March 24.
