“Is it East versus West, or man against man?” asked soft rock legends Survivor in the rousing Rocky IV theme tune Burning Heart.

The film's most fateful bout resulted in tragedy, as Dolph Lundgren's soviet superhuman Ivan Drago killed Carl Weathers' Apollo Creed in the ring, back in 1985.

But 34 years later, it seems there's no hard feelings, as the acting pals reunited at the famous Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California.

Posting a picture of the pair, Lundgren captioned: “Rematch at Gold’s Gym Venice. Apollo’s looking dangerous.”

The 1985 bout not only made for captivating viewing in Rocky IV, as Sly Stallone’s veteran slugger weighed in to avenge his friend's death, but also provided quarry for a new instalment in the invigorated Rocky series.

Creed II found Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed, son of the late Apollo, pitted against the son of Ludgren's Drago, Viktor, played in the movie by Romanian boxer Florian 'Big Nasty' Munteanu.
