Ryan Gosling's new movie lands release date
Ryan Gosling's new movie Project Hail Mary has landed a release date.
The space adventure project will be hit screens on March 20, 2026, Deadline reports.
Directed by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie is based on Andy Weir's 2021 science fiction novel of the same name. MGM acquired rights in 2020, a year before the novel was published.

Set in the near future, Gosling is to play schoolteacher and astronaut Ryland Grace who finds himself alone on a space station after waking up from a coma. He has no memory of who he is or why he is in space. Slowly, he begins to remember that he is on a mission in the Tau Ceti solar system to reverse a solar dimming event that has triggered the early stages of an Ice Age on Earth.
Ryland will also meet an alien on his mission who communicates through musical tones.
"Having one of your main characters have no face and speak through music is a challenge that's crazy enough that we would want to take it on," Miller told The Hollywood Reporter last year.
Gosling, directors Lord and Miller and author Weir are producers on the Amazon MGM Studios project alongside Rachel O'Connor (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Amy Pascal (Venom: Let There Be Carnage) and Aditya Sood (Strays).

Drew Goddard adapted the screenplay and is an executive producer with Sarah Esberg and Ken Kao. He also adapted Weir's other novel, The Martian, into the 2015 movie of the same name starring Matt Damon and directed by Ridley Scott.
Gosling's latest movie, The Fall Guy, sees him star alongside Emily Blunt as stuntman Colt Seavers. However, the Barbie actor said playing Ken has been his most challenging role to date.
"It's the hardest role I've ever had to play. It was like a high-wire act – in tiny shorts and no shirt – with no net," he told Variety in February. "In some way, everything I've done led to it. And I can't believe I'm saying that."
Project Hail Mary will be released on March 20, 2026.
