Top 10 stars and films of the last 10 years named

With IMDBPro celebrating its 10th birthday, the film database has decided to honour the top ranking stars and movies. It also revealed the most anticipated films yet to be released.

Based on its STARmeter system, IMDBPro named Johnny Depp as the top actor of the last 10 years, with the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' and 'Finding Neverland' star just pipping couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to the top spot.

Their MOVIEmeter system yielded more surprising results. 'The Dark Knight' topped the rankings, but it was followed by 'Donnie Darko', and a remaining Top 10 dominated by 'Lord Of The Rings' and 'Harry Potter' films.

In a double victory for director Christopher Nolan, 'The Dark Knight Rises' was, somewhat less surprisingly, deemed the most-anticipated in-production film.
Col Needham, founder and CEO of IMDb, commented:

"We’re humbled and proud of the role IMDbPro has quietly played over the last deade. For example, Robert Pattinson was discovered by a studio executive using IMDbPro to search for actors to read for the role of Edward in the wildly popular Twilight franchise.”
