Following the untimely death of ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin, fans have been reacting by paying tribute to the 27-year-old actor who’ll always be remembered in some quarters as Pavel Chekov.
Tumblr blogger MrScratch0753 shared this sketch of Anton being greeted at the pearly gates by fellow Trek stars Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, and James Doohan and it’s since been shared over 11,000 times.
The actors who played Spock, Bones, and Scotty in the original ‘Star Trek’ TV series and subsequent films are seen welcoming Yelchin to the afterlife with the melancholic greeting of “we did not expect to see you so soon”.
On his blog Mr Scratch wrote: “It’s father’s day, and I have no real time to finish this, but I wanted all my Trekkie friends and family all around the world to have this.”
