Disney has unveiled mock-up images of its upcoming Star Wars-themed hotel experience, which will see customers spend two days living aboard a starship.

The Galactic Starcruiser experience will allow guests to board the Halcyon and, according to the Disney Parks blog, “become the heroes of your own Star Wars story”.

Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled the new images as part of his keynote address at a virtual event organised by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

The two-day and two-night experience will take the form of a Star Wars adventure and include a visit to the existing Galaxy’s Edge area at the park’s Hollywood Studios.

The marketing blurb continues: “Guests will cruise the galaxy in style aboard the Halcyon, known for its impeccable service and exotic destinations.

“Onboard, you’ll stay in well-appointed cabins, experience onboard dining, make a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu and much more.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to wield a lightsaber, learn how to pilot a starship and peek through the windows of the Halcyon at enormous galactic vistas.

Disney says that the Galactic Starcruiser experience will open at some point during 2021.

He said progress is continuing on the Avengers Campus at the Disneyland parks in both California and Paris, as well as a special Spider-Man adventure.
