Stranger Things spoilers follow.

The critically acclaimed film Hoard, starring Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn, has had its UK release confirmed.

The film, which also stars Saura Lightfoot Leon and is the directorial debut of Luna Carmoon, premiered at this year's Venice International Film Festival to rave reviews and 100% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.

While the 100% fresh rating has (slightly) slipped to 89% at the time of writing, Hoard has now acquired multiple deals to be screened in cinemas, including in the UK by Vertigo Releasing, as reported by Screen Daily.

The film is set in 1984 London and follows 7-year-old Maria (Lily Beau-Leach) and her mother living in their own world "built on sorting through bins and collecting shiny rubbish".

After a dramatic event one night which sees the pair's world fall apart, the film joins an older Maria (Saura Lightfoot Leon) a decade later as she's living with her foster mother.

As per the film's official synopsis, "an older stranger, Michael (Joseph Quinn), then enters their home, opening the door to past trauma, magic and madness…"

Ed Caffrey, an executive at Vertigo Releasing, said that Hoard was "one of the most unique and arresting debuts we've seen".

Joseph Quinn is best known for his role as Eddie Munson in Netflix's sci-fi smash, Stranger Things.

Although he regrettably met a fatal end in the final episode of Strangers Things's fourth season, the character was a huge fan favourite amongst viewers – and his return has already been confirmed via prequel novel Flight of Icarus, set two years before the events of the Netflix series.

Hoard's UK premiere takes place on October 9 at the BFI London Film Festival.
