Every trailer at the Super Bowl from Deadpool and Wolverine to Wicked

The Super Bowl is the place to watch the biggest trailers for the very first time, and for the film industry it's a surefire way to tease a big blockbuster to one of the largest audiences they can reach.

This year's edition of the sporting event was no different, as there were a number of trailers to debut to audiences around the world. Some were the first preview of a film, whilst others gave a closer look at blockbusters that have already been announced.

Here is everything you need to know about the film trailers shown at the event.

Every trailer at the Super Bowl from Deadpool 3 to Wicked

Deadpool and Wolverine

Officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, this trailer was definitely the most exciting of the night given the hugely anticipated sequel sees Hugh Jackman return as the X-Men icon since 2017. The teaser trailer reveals that Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), is being brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Disney through the TVA, which was first introduced in Disney+ series Loki.

Now the saviour of the multiverse, Deadpool is tasked with helping the TVA with a number of problems including rogue villains like Doctor Doom and, potentially, Wolverine himself.

Wicked: Part One

One of the greatest modern musicals, Wicked reimagines The Wizard of Oz to delightful effect by focusing not on Dorothy Gale but Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and her sister Galinda (Ariana Grande) before the original is set. Fans will know the pair later become known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, and the film will reveal how and why that happened.

The trailer gave a glimpse at the film's big musical moments, and teased the Wonderful Wizard's (Jeff Goldblum) nefarious nature as well as Dorothy's arrival in Oz. The film was revealed to be the first of two parts, suggesting the movie will focus on the first act of the musical.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Set before the events of A Quiet Place Part One and Two, the prequel follows Lupta Nyong'o's Sam as she tries to survive while the world is falling apart around her. The film will reveal how and why the creatures from the franchise have come to terrorise humanity.

Twisters

1996 film Twister is getting a sequel, the aptly named Twisters, which stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos amongst others. It will follow a group of storm chasers who become stuck in a twister, and their fight to survive.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

The Planet of the Apes franchise continues going strong with its fourth instalment, which will let fans return to the story 300 years after the events of War of the Planet of the Apes. Earth is now led by an ape civilisation and humanity are starting to be left mute, and when one leader begins a reign of terror it is up to chimpanzee Noa (Owen Teague) and human companion Nova (Freya Allan) to stop it.

Monkey Man

Dev Patel's directorial debut Monkey Man was given a brand new trailer at the Super Bowl, the teaser shared a closer glimpse at his character's quest for vengeance against those who had a hand in killing his mother.

The Fall Guy

Another film to get an Game Spot trailer is The Fall Guy, Ryan Gosling's new film in which he stars as a stuntman tasked with saving the actor he shadows after he goes missing. The trailer gave a closer look at the incredible stunts and thrilling action that viewers will get to enjoy.

Bob Marley: One Love

This preview clip for the new Bob Marley biopic showed what viewers can expect from the film, which explores the iconic musician's life in the period after an assassination attempt, and how it led to him making his album Exodus. The film stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as Marley and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita.

Inside Out 2

In the lead up to the Super Bowl, Pixar shared a new trailer for Inside Out 2 which showed Joy as she and the other emotions enjoyed a new year in Riley's mind. But as the young girl grows older a new emotion begins to take over: Anxiety.

Kung Fu Panda 4

In this game spot, Po (Jack Black) is tasked with training a new Dragon Warrior but along the way he is met with a new formidable enemy, one who can transform themselves into anyone and master their moves. It is up to the loveable panda and his team to try and stop him.

Despicable Me 4

More of an advert for the trailer than a trailer itself, the game spot for Despicable Me 4 shows how AI technology that has become prevalent today is actually being masterminded by the Minions in the film franchise. The amusing clip shows the Minions helping build odd AI-generated images for the world.

IF

In this game spot, which was released ahead of the Super Bowl, Randall Park stands in as John Krasinski to discuss IF. The preview clip then showed a closer look at the film where a young girl discovers she can see everyone's imaginary friends — and she's not the only one.
