Hang On, Was That Sigourney Weaver In Doc Martin Last Night?

In what can only be described as an odd turn of events, Sigourney Weaver - yes, she of the ‘Alien’ movies and 'Ghostbusters’ fame – pitched up on 'Doc Martin’ last night. Bothering Martin Clunes’ grumpy GP, she played Beth Traywick, an American tourist seeking medical treatment while visiting Portwenn. As one might expect, it baffled viewers. However, Clunes did let slip last month that Weaver had been bagged for the show, so perhaps it shouldn’t have been a tremendous surprise.
