Marvel star Chris Hemsworth celebrated his 37th birthday on 11 August, and his Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi was among those wishing him many happy returns.

Arch-prankster Waititi sent his gushing message on Twitter, saying “Happy Birthday to my reason for living, @ChrisHemsworth. There’s no one like you.”

However, the image attached showed the Kiwi filmmaker with Liam Hemsworth, Chris’ younger brother.

Well played Taika.

Actor Sam Claflin responded with a ROFL emoji.

Most of the replies to the tweet got the joke, repeating the gag sharing photos of Waititi with other actors named Chris, other Hemsworth brothers, and a few of him with Ryan Reynolds.

Hemsworth’s actress wife Elsa Pataky also went for a light-hearted approach in her well-wishes, sharing a photo of him in his fat Thor costume from Avengers: Endgame.

Mark Ruffalo, Marvel’s Hulk, also wished his Avengers co-star a happy birthday, sharing some behind-the-scenes pics from Endgame.

Hemsworth will return to the role of Thor in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Filming on the fourth Thor film is expected to get underway in Australia in the early part of 2021.
