The Cybermen are back in epic trailer for 'Doctor Who' series 12
When Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnell took over the reigns of the BBC's flagship sci-fi show, he kept the classic Whovian baddies at arms length in his first season.
But following the first trailer for series 12, debuted at the weekend, we got our first glimpse of the veteran bad guys the Cybermen.

And they look like they could do with a wee spritz of WD-40, to be fair.
“Something's coming for me,” says Jodie Whittaker's The Doctor. “I can feel it.” And she's probably right.
The epic trailer is heavy on action, with explosions, terrifying-looking robot arachnids, bats, tears and a gleeful Lenny Henry discharging a handgun from the window of a moving vehicle.
The Rhino-esque aliens the Judoon are back too, along with the Doctor's sidekicks Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Graham (Bradley Walsh).
The recently announced Stephen Fry also makes an appearance to up the stakes, stating: “The security of the entire planet is at stake. Can we rely upon you?”

Chibnall recently teased the 'biggest episode in the show's history' coming this season, with both Fry and Henry involved.
He told Metro: “This year it’s like, look at everything we’ve got in the toybox of Doctor Who. It was always the plan to have more old monsters. There’s a lovely balance, we’ve got some quite scary new monsters, because you want the people whether they’re five or 25 or 55 who joined us last year and hadn’t watched the show before, to show them all the treats Doctor Who can provide.”
Hurl in some customary historical landmarks – notably wartime Paris – and we've got all the hallmarks of a fine series, coming in early 2020.
