Bill Murray really needs to get his act together.

It’s no secret that the legendary Bill Murray can be a bit of an oddball. He’s also notoriously difficult to get hold of. And now it looks as though he lost out on the ‘Toni Erdmann’ remake thanks to being extremely disorganised.

That’s right – he could have landed the role instead of Jack Nicholson.

During an interview with CNBC, the legendary actor revealed that Kristen Wiig approached him for the role… but he eventually missed the chance to be a part of it.

“Kristen Wiig, who I think is so wonderful, sent me something and said, ‘Would you look at this thing?’ And I’m just not very organized,” he said. “For a while I lost it, and then I found it, but I didn’t get around to watching this thing that she wanted me to watch. And then she said, ‘Well, Jack Nicholson took the job’.”

Of course, Jack Nicholson recently signed on for the remake alongside Kristen Wiig.

‘Toni Erdmann’ was a German-Austrian comedy-drama released in 2016 to critical acclaim. Following the story of an eccentric old-age hippie attempting to reconnect with his daughter, the film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards and it was perhaps inevitable that an English-speaking remake would eventually rear its head.

But sadly, without Bill Murray.

Still, he’s not exactly fretting about it, and in the CNBC interview, he went on to quickly explain how he’s often forgetting things like this. His example? Well, he let his Netflix subscription lapse because he forgot to renew it.

Yeah… talk about priorities, Bill.

Still, we now have Jack Nicholson in the leading role for the Toni Erdmann remake.

Let’s just hope he remembers to turn up to the set.
