Thor Ragnarok Will Partly-Adapt Planet Hulk Storyline - Report

It’s been public knowledge for some time that ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will star both Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, but plot details have so far been scarce.

Until now perhaps. A new report has revealed what it believes to be the basic plot of the upcoming threequel; also revealing that the film will adapt an element of famed comic storyline 'Planet Hulk’.

JoBlo’s report doesn’t include any major spoilers. Everything it discusses is no worse than you might find in an official plot synopsis, but here’s your SPOILER WARNING just in case.

According to the report, 'Thor: Ragnarok’ will focus on Thor’s efforts to find “the ultimate weapon” to prevent Ragnarok - which in Norse mythology means a cataclysmic, world-ending event. What that weapon is, they don’t know, but it’s good bet it’ll be either an Infinity Stone or The Hulk himself.

Hulk will reportedly be introduced in a portion of the film when Thor ends up on a planet on which Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster is hosting gladatorial games. Among the combatants will be Hulk, wearing the kind of garb he wore in the 'Planet Hulk’ comics.

JoBlo also reports some radical changes to the appearances of two other characters are on the way. Thor himself will sport a partly-shaven head “for at least a portion of the film”, while new character Valkyrie (played by 'Creed’s Tessa Thompson) will wear war-paint like that of a Native American warrior. In the comics the character has traditionally been portrayed as a blonde woman.

What’s not revealed by the report are the roles of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Cate Blanchett’s Hela, who will serve as the film’s main antagonist.

We’ll find out more as we approach the film’s October 2017 release date.
