Thor Won’t Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy 2
It’s official – Thor won’t appear in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’.
According to director James Gunn, the Asgardian superhero won’t be picking up his hammer for the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sequel… it was all just a misunderstanding.
“No, Thor isn’t in Vol. 2,” he said via Facebook. “The props guy just happened to have [his hammer] around and I decided to take a pic with it. Not sure if I’m able to lift it because I’m worthy or because I’m soulless like an elevator.”

Of course, rumours that Thor may feature in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ appeared last week after James Gunn was depicted clutching Thor’s hammer on set.
But while many fans jumped to conclusions, it looks as though it’s a big misunderstanding.
Despite the director snapping a cheeky picture with Mjolnir, it seems that Thor won’t in fact be a part of the upcoming ‘Guardians’ sequel. But let’s face it – Marvel fans were bound to jump to that conclusion.
After all, Thor isn’t from Earth… and could easily take up arms with his fellow aliens.
But that simply won’t be the case.
“The statement I’ve made is that there will be no Avengers in GotGVol2,” he said via Twitter.
That’s right – not only will there be no Thor, but it looks unlikely that Bruce Banner or the Hulk will be getting a cameo either. And we can count out the rest of the Avengers while we’re at it.
Does this mean Captain Marvel won’t feature in the movie?
Not necessarily… after all, she’s not an Avenger yet.
But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ heads to cinemas on 28 April 2017.
