Tom Hiddleston and Karen Gillan's new movie gets exciting update
Tom Hiddleston and Karen Gillan's new movie The Life of Chuck has received an exciting update.
After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, where it won the People's Choice Award, the movie is set to land in US cinemas next summer. A UK release date has yet to be confirmed (via Deadline).
Based on a short story by Stephen King, the sci-fi drama tells the story of ordinary man Charles Krantz (played by Hiddleston), who tragically died at the age of 39 from a brain tumour.
The film is split into three distinct chapters that are told in reverse order. It begins with the character's death and goes backwards through his life, ending at his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

"Amidst the chaos, there is a slew of billboards touting a man named Charles 'Chuck' Krantz, and congratulating him for being a guiding presence for 39 years," teases the official synopsis for the film.
"Nobody in town knows who the hell he is, or whether he might have some answers as their world crumbles all around them."
The Life of Chuck is written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who previously directed 2019 horror Doctor Sleep, which was based on the sequel to King's iconic novel The Shining.
It also stars Doctor Strange's Chiwetel Ejiofor, Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, Scream's Matthew Lillard, Oppenheimer's David Dastmalchian and The Little Mermaid's Jacob Tremblay.

The film currently sits at an impressive 86% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes from 37 reviews. Critics have largely praised the film, with many impressed by its "all-too-relatable fears" and "earnest depiction of the complex universes".
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Flanagan recently revealed that he regularly approached King for his "approval" during the production process.
"When we were doing The Life of Chuck, we talked a lot before production. He has an enormous amount of approvals on things like casting and other details," he explained.
"But when the movie goes, he stays very far away. He says, 'The movie's yours and the book is mine'."
