'Truth Seekers': First look at Simon Pegg in his new Amazon show with Nick Frost

Amazon has shared a new look at its upcoming supernatural comedy series Truth Seekers ahead of its virtual Comic-Con@Home panel later this week.

Starring Nick Frost, Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Susan Wokoma, Emma D’Arcy and Simon Pegg, Truth Seekers is a supernatural comedy drama series about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see.

The show was partly inspired by Pegg and Frost’s pre-fame visits to haunted locations.

The new images, released today, reveal the second look at the cast in character: Nick Frost as Gus, Malcolm McDowell as Richard, Samson Kayo as Elton, Susan Wokoma as Helen, Emma D’Arcy as Astrid and Simon Pegg as Dave.

On Thursday, July 23, 12:00 PDT (8pm UK time), Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and writers James Serafinowicz (Sick Note), and Nat Saunders (Sick Note) will take part in a discussion and Q&A moderated by Empire magazine's Chris Hewitt, as part of San Diego Comic-Con’s online event.

The show does not have a launch date yet, but the eight-part series is expected to land on Prime Video at some point in 2020. It was filmed over August 2019.

The show is one of the first TV projects to launch from Stolen Picture, the production company launched by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in 2017.

Talking about the show when it was first announced, Pegg said: “Nick and I are delighted that Truth Seekers has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special.

Truth Seekers is co-written by Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz who Executive Produce alongside Miles Ketley and Jim Field Smith who also serves as Director.
