US Trailer For The Hallow Promises Supernatural Shocks Galore

If you go down to the woods today… just don’t. Go somewhere else. Horror movies have been warning us to keep to the path for decades, much as folklore has for time immemorial - but we never learn, do we?

So it is that British director Corin Hardy’s debut feature ‘The Hallow’ is set to present us with yet another vision of the perils that befall those foolhardy enough to venture into the dark, forbidden places - and boy, does it look creepy.

Watch the new trailer from the upcoming US release below, if you think your nerves can take it…

‘The Hallow’ premiered at US festival Sundance back in January, and more recently screened at London’s Film4 FrightFest where it met a favourable reception.

Joseph Mawle stars as a London conservationist sent to take care of the trees in a neglected Irish forest, and in so doing moving into a farmhouse cottage at the edge of the woods with his wife (Bojana Novakovic) and their child.

When the locals tell them that they’re trespassing on hallowed ground belonging to fairy folk, naturally these warnings are ignored… which is never a good idea in a horror movie.

‘The Hallow’ has garnered much praise for its tension, atmosphere, and awesome creature FX work - all of which we get some hints of from the trailer above.

And we know some people in high places have been impressed, as director Corin Hardy is set to follow the film with the long-awaited reboot of ‘The Crow’ (although the financial troubles of studio Relativity Media are holding this film up at present).

‘The Hallow’ is in UK cinemas on Friday 13th November.
