Valerian: Dane DeHaan And Cara Delevingne Suit Up
It’s official – we’ve finally got our first look at ‘Valerian’.
‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ is the upcoming sci-fi epic from writer/director Luc Besson… which sees Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne suit up as time-travellers who might just be the universe’s last hope.
And this new image showcases their rather cool, new costumes.

Posted to Instagram by director Luc Besson, this new image shines a light on the film’s two protagonists – Valerian and Laureline.
Based on the 1967 French comics by artist Jean-Claude Mezieres and Pierre Christin, ‘Valerian’ is set in the 28th century, with Dane DeHaan as Valérian and Cara Delevingne as Laureline.
The galaxy and time-traversing pair are described as ‘spatio-temporal agents’ who travel space and time to perform numerous different tasks – whether its exploration, diplomacy or even space rescue missions.
In fact, it looks (and sounds) an awful lot like the videogame series, ‘Mass Effect’.
And that includes their space-age armoured suits.
“The movie, set to be released on July 21, 2017, is budgeted at $180 million and shooting at Besson’s Cite du Cinema studios outside Paris… The film is produced by Virginie Besson-Silla for EuropaCorp, with Fundamental Films, BNP Paribas, Orane, Universum Film, Gulf Film, River Road Entertainment, Belga Films and TF1 Films financing the project.”
‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Panets’ stars Dane DeHann and Cara Delevingne, with a cast that also includes Rihanna, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, Herbie Hancock and John Goodman.
‘Valerian’ heads to cinemas on 21 July 2017.
