Vin Diesel goes rogue in Fast & Furious 8 trailer
Furiouser and furiouser… has Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto gone to the dark side?
There’s surely some mistake, but judging by this first official look at ‘Fast & Furious 8’, our hero, the patriarch of the family, has indeed gone rogue.
Pulling the strings from one of those Bourne-style control rooms with loads of tellies is new villian Charlize Thernon, as Cipher, a ‘hi-tech terrorist’.
She’s got some bad-ass hair extensions and Dom Toretto in her pocket.
And in another twist, Statham is switching sides too – yep, the villain from ‘Fast & Furious 7’, the musclebound, sweaty and jailed Deckard Shaw, is joining the crew to help take Bad Dom down.
There has to be a further twist down the line, of course, but for the time being, we have all the high-octane-style action we’d expect from the franchise, as well as some tanks, heavy artillery, a submarine and some strong family values.
No sign of Helen Mirren yet, be returning are the usual suspects – Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs, Michelle Rodriguez as Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson’s Roman, and Jordana Brewster’s Mia, along with Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood, and ‘Game of Thrones’ stars Nathalie Emmanuel and Kristofer Hivju.
It’s due out across the UK on April 14, 2017.
