If you thought 2017 couldn’t get any weirder…
Action star, badass and all-round tough guy Vin Diesel has a new project… and it’s not another ‘Fast and Furious’ movie. In fact, it’s not a movie at all. Taking to a soundbooth to record a very special duet with none other than Selena Gomez, it looks as though Vin Diesel is now officially a popstar.
Just take a moment to process that.
His debut track is a reworked version of ‘It Ain’t Me’ by Selena Gomez – a recent collaboration with Norwegian producer, Kygo. And it looks as though Vin managed to coerce the Scandinavian music producer to help him out with his version, too.
I mean, would you say no to him?
The rather folksy track sees Vin Diesel belting out those Gomez lyrics alongside the young singer’s tune… and it’s already been pointed out that with his almost whale-like baritone, it sounds more like a father-daughter karaoke session.
Still, Vin seems pretty happy with it…
“The new Kygo mix is up on my Facebook page,” he said via Instagram. “I stepped out of my comfort zone for this one, haha. Let me know what you think. Thank you @kygomusic for producing this 2017 HIT! Thank you for believing in me enough to ask me to sing. Thank you @Selenagomez for bringing that beautiful and magical voice. Pained and celebratory simultaneously. I followed your lead when I went into the booth… #kygoselenavin #ItAintMe #gratefultomakemagic #believeinyou”
That’s a whole lotta hash tags right there.
So there we have it – Vin Diesel’s foray into pop music. Will the ‘Fast and Furious’ star end up releasing an album? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
But this could be the musical shake up the world needs.
