Netflix is making way for new content, and it's doing this by removing a number of titles from its back catalogue over the course of the month.

TV shows and films will be culled from the streaming platform across August, with the most titles being removed on the first of the month. As well as classic movies and recent hits, the streamer will also be getting rid of some of its own originals — so viewers better get in quick if they want to catch up.

Here is everything you need to know about what is leaving the platform in August, with thanks to What's on Netflix for a detailed list.

Will Smith's Oscar-winning film King Richard will also be removed from Netflix on 6 August, while Christopher Nolan's first big hit Memento is going to be taken off the streaming platform on 13 August. Film fans might be excited to see The Devil Wears Prada get a sequel, but viewers will only have until 7 August to watch before it's gone for good too.

In a surprising turn of events Netflix will be removing its original series The Alienist, the series ran for two seasons between 2018 and 2020. The series stars Daniel Bruhl, Dakota Fanning and Luke Evans, and it follows a trio who come together to investigate a serial killer targeting children in 1890s New York City.

Other titles set to be removed from the platform include Bollywood films Baahubali: The Beginning and its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion on 7 August.
