Arnie confirms Twins sequel plans

And it might still involve Eddie Murphy

Arnold Schwarzengger has confirmed that he's making a sequel to his 80s comedy caper 'Twins'.

The former Governor of California added that he'll be working with Ivan Reitman, who directed the original version in 1988, which starred Schwarzengger and Danny DeVito as unlikely siblings.

Arnie revealed his plans during the panel for 'The Expendables 2' at the Comic-Con event in San Diego, in which he's starring alongside old school action types Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The Austrian Oak said: “I think they have moved it along, and Ivan Reitman has shown interest in being involved.

“Universal is excited about it.”

He added that the project doesn't yet have a writer on board, but reckons it will be "hilarious".

Rumours around the film emerged earlier this year, but with a slightly unexpected twist.

They suggested that the sequel would be called 'Triplets', in which the original brothers Julius and Vincent find they have a brother in Eddie Murphy.

DeVito appeared to confirm these rumours while appearing on the BBC last month, including the potential involvement of Murphy.

The news comes among a glut of new roles for the body-builder-turned-actor-turned-politician-turned-actor.

He's set to star in forthcoming action thriller 'Ten', 'The Tomb', once again with Stallone, Vinnie Jones and 50 Cent, 'The Last Stand' with Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville, and 'The Unknown Soldier'.
