Arnie posts pic from Expendables 3 set

Arnold Schwarzenegger has given fans a sneak peek behind the scenes from the set of Expendables 3.

The actor posted a photo of himself posing alongside co-star Harrison Ford and the film's director Patrick Hughes.

Arnie can be seen chomping on a cigar, while Ford is dressed in a flight suit, leading us to assume the plane in the background belongs to his character Max Drummer.

"It was a fantastic first day of filming on Expendables 3," said Schwarzenegger on Facebook. "Great to work with Harrison and our director, Patrick."

Ford replaces Expendables stalwart Bruce Willis in the third film in the franchise, while Antonio Banderas and Mel Gibson also join the cast - the latter playing the movie's villain.

Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren will all return for the threequel, which sees Sylvester Stallone's Barney face a ruthless arms dealer he thought to be dead.

The Expendables 3 will be released on August 15, 2014.
