Since then the actor has directed Oscar-nominated 'J. Edgar', 2010's 'Hereafter' and South African rugby flick 'Invictus', starring Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman.
The 82-year-old actor had previously suggested that 'Gran Torino' would be his swansong as an actor. During his press tour for the film Eastwood said: "You always want to quit while you are ahead. You don't want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you're not performing at your best.
"['Gran Torino'] will probably do it for me as far as acting is concerned."
Luckily for us, Eastwood is back. His new role sees him play an ailing baseball scout in his twilight years who takes his daughter (played by Amy Adams) along for one last recruiting trip. Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and 'Scooby-Doo' star Matthew Lillard flesh out the cast.
'Trouble With The Curve' is currently due to be released in the UK on 30th November 2012.
