First look: Pain & Gain trailer

The trailer for Michael Bay’s ‘Pain & Gain’ is here, and there’s barely an explosion in sight.

Watch it below.

‘Pain & Gain’, surprisingly low-budget for the ‘Transformer’s director, is being billed as Bay’s passion project. It tells the true story of a gang of steroid-soaked Miami body builders who get involved in an extortion plot that goes wrong - based on a series of real-life news stories by US investigative journalist Pete Collins.

Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Anthony Mackie play the endearing ‘knuckleheads’ that come up against Ed Harris’ hard-ass detective in Bay’s first real attempt at any comedy since ‘Bad Boys’ back in 1995. Hotly tipped Aussie actress Rebel Wilson also makes an appearance in the trailer performing some “penis magic”.

Ok so it’s hardly on the indie scale of low-budget, but at a reported £14 million it’s the smallest stack of cash Bay has had at his disposal since those early days of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

‘Pain & Gain’ is out 3 May 2013
