Exclusive Kick-Ass 2 on-set pics
Kick-Ass has officially arrived in London... so despite not being strictly speaking 'invited', Yahoo! UK went to have a nosey at the production.
The amateur superhero has taken over Soho's Denmark Street, famed for its guitar shops, to shoot scenes for 'Kick-Ass 2' after recently shifting production from Toronto.
Filling the roads with production vans, we spotted Kick-Ass himself, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (though it could have been a stuntman), filming in an dingy alley, one end of which found a parked yellow New York cab to make the action look a bit less like London and more like the Big Apple.
Filming seemed to be taking place in a blues club next to the alley too. As the script is currently a closely-guarded secret, precisely what action is being filmed here in the capital is unclear.
But we did manage to sneak a peak at some props being worked on nearby — one was a banner reading, rather cryptically, 'Every human has rights', while another seemed to be emblazoned with the phrase 'Brad is an ass' - which spelled out 'Kick Ass 2'. Clever.
Whether this is relevant to the film itself (or simply referring to a member of the crew called Brad) remains, once again, tantalisingly unknown.
What is known, however, is that Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz will be reprising their roles as Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, alongside Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage — despite Cage being seemingly 'despatched' in the first film.
New to the cast are Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes, John Leguizamo playing Javier and 'Scrubs' star Donald Faison as Doctor Gravity.
A casting call was recently made for fans with homemade superhero suits to send in pictures of themselves to the production, with a view to showing them in the movie.
It's due for release in July, 2013.
