Cate Blanchett will only appear in one Hobbit sequel (exclusive)
Blue Jasmine star thinks Galadriel will skip Desolation of Smaug.
Cate Blanchett thinks her 'Hobbit' character, Galadriel, will not appear in the upcoming 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'.
We chatted to the star while she was on promotional duties for 'Blue Jasmine' (for which she's tipped to win an Oscar) about the upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation.

After joking about the number of installments in the 'Hobbit' series (two… "and counting!"), she speculated on how much screen time her hugely popular elven queen Galadriel would have.
“I don’t know whether I’m in the second, I think I’m in the third ['The Hobbit: There and Back Again']. But look, Laurence Olivier was made into a hologram [for infamous 80s stage show ‘Time’], so there’s always a potential for me to be in a holographic installation in ‘The Hobbit’,” she laughed.

She said she shot eight days of footage for Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit' series. The total shoot ran to over 300 days.
“Who knows with these things…” she said. “My three boys, my three sons, hope that I’m in it. But I honestly hand on heart can’t tell you.”
We'll know for sure when 'Desolation' hits screens on 13 December.
