Dumb and Dumber sequel 'still on'

Jeff Daniels says that he and Jim Carrey could still make the film next year

The sequel to Farrelly Brothers comedy 'Dumb and Dumber' could still be on, according to the film's original star Jeff Daniels.

It was thought that the project, set to be called 'Dumb and Dumber To', had been canned after other filming commitments - and indecision from studio bosses - forced co-star Jim Carrey to pull out.

But now Daniels is saying that there's still hope for the anticipated project.

“We almost were able to kinda get it done this year, but they're still working on the script,” he told WENN.

“Jim wants to do it, I want to do it, the Farrellys want to do it. We're all hoping that it'll come together early next year.”

The script reportedly brings together the characters of Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas from the original 1994 film 18 years on to see how their lives have turned out.

A poorly received prequel, 'Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd', was released in 2003.
