Elizabeth Olsen has said that she finds on-screen nudity 'empowering'.

The star of 'Oldboy', and the younger sister of former child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley, appeared naked in the thriller 'Martha Marcy May Marlene' in 2011.

She also bares all in 'Oldboy', during a love scene with co-star Josh Brolin in the Spike Lee-helmed remake of the South Korean movie.

“I truly believe in the films I've chosen to be nude (in),” she told the New York Daily News.

“It helps tell a more grotesque story. There's nothing gratuitous about it, and it creates the opposite of pleasure. I find it empowering.”

The 24-year-old actress added in a recent interview with WENN that the scene with Brolin was 'weird', as Brolin has a daughter only five years younger than her.

“It was probably weirder for him than for me because he has a daughter my age, so I'm sure that was weird for both of them.”

The film is out on December 6.
