Recognise this famous child star?

He sees dead people

Whatever happened to the cute kid who memorably told Bruce Willis “I see dead people...” in ‘The Sixth Sense’?

Well, THIS, as it turns out.

Haley Joel Osment, the Oscar-nominated child star last seen (by most people) in ‘The Sixth Sense’, ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’, has re-surfaced in adult form this week in the first trailer for ‘Sassy Pants’.

The new indie flick follows Ashley Richards as a teenage girl trying to nab a job before going away to college. Things get complicated by her over-bearing mother and her gay father, played by Diedrich Bader – best known for his role in ‘Napoleon Dynamite’.

Osment, now 23, plays Chip Hardy, the young gay lover of the father. The ex-child star is barely recognisable and sports piercings, tattoos and a lot of flesh in the trailer.

It’s a long-awaited return to the cinema screen for Osment, whose last major role was way back in 2001 in the Steven Spielberg sci-fi movie ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’.

Since then, he’s been living life as a voice-over artist, most notably manning the vocals of Mowgli in Disney sequel ‘The Jungle Book 2’ and a number of video games.

He also had brief stints in cartoons such as ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Hey Arnold!’.

Last year Osment tried to revive his on-screen acting career in ‘Montana Amazon’, but the film didn’t make much of an impression.

The trailer for the questionably-titled ‘Sassy Pants’ has just been released. Watch it here to catch the ‘Sixth Sense’ kid back in action.
