Reynolds exits Highlander reboot
Green Lantern star won't be Connor MacLeod after all
Ryan Reynolds won't be the star of the planned reboot of 'Highlander', according to reports.
The 'Green Lantern' star had been attached to the project playing Connor MacLeod, the immortal, sword-wielding Scotsman originally played by Christopher Lambert in the 1986 fantasy.
But Summit Entertainment, the company that has been working on the project for some years now, will be seeking another leading man.

Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, of '28 Weeks Later' fame, was also originally attached to the project, but parted ways with Summit in November last year.
Before that Justin Lin was in the driving seat, but left to make 'Fast and Furious 6'.
It's thought that Reynolds may have jumped because a suitable replacement had not yet been found.
He'll next be seen in supernatural action comedy 'R.I.P.D.' with Jeff Bridges.

Australian director Russell Mulcahy directed both the first and second 'Highlander' films.
The first starred Christopher Lambert as the titular 'Highlander', competing in a contest running through the ages pitting immortals against each other in a fight to the death – only brought about through the severing of the head.
It also starred Clancy Brown as the malevolent, scene-stealing The Kurgan, and Sean Connery barely making an effort with a Spanish accent as Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, originally born in Egypt.
