It seems the movie is far from done, with betting company William Hill tipping it for the gold come 29th February. With odds of 3/10, it is way ahead of the nearest competitor with ‘The Descendants’ sitting in second place with 4/1.

Not only is it favourite to win Best Picture, it’s also thought that director Michel Hazanavicius is in line for Best Director after impressing the awards with his filmmaking skills. He leads the pack with 8/13 with Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese trailing at 15/8.

George Clooney is backed to score Best Actor for his role in ‘The Descendants’ in front of yet another ‘The Artist’ contender Jean Dujardin who will be eager to maximise his sudden rise to mainstream fame.

Meryl Streep looks set to out-act the other actresses up for the Leading Role category. This might not come as massive shock as Streep has been unanimously praised for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher, even if the film itself hasn’t been recognised.

Take a look at the full list of betting odds, correct at time of writing.
