The Wachowskis return to The Matrix
Prequel series rumoured for 2017.
Rumour has it the Wachowskis are returning to The Matrix franchise.
Word is that Warner Bros are looking for a surefire hit to go up against Star Wars in 2017, and think that bringing back the cult hit could be the key to success for the studio.

According to Latino Review, directors Andy and Lana Wachowski are working on developing a plot for a new series of films. But original stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving are unlikely to return as it’s thought any new films will be prequels to the original trilogy following The Architect’s suggestion that Neo wasn’t the first ‘One’ in The Matrix Revolutions.
“We’ve been told that Wachowskis have already started the writing process with early treatments and outlines already turned into the studio” the site reports.
“No word if they will want to direct but my money says ‘Claro que Si!’”

The Wachowski siblings' next release is sci-fi action/adventure Jupiter Ascending starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
