Tom Hiddleston to play the Crow?
Tom Hiddleston is in early talks to play the lead in a remake of the graphic novel 'The Crow.'
Apparenty the star, who's recently portrayed Loki, the god of mischief in 'Thor', and 'The Avengers', and is returning in the role later this year for the sequel 'Thor: The Dark World,' will be reprising the role of Eric Draven, the protagonist played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 movie.
Various names have been linked to the remake for the last few years including Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum. And as recently as February, James McAvoy was thought to be talking the part.
Allegedly, Hiddleston came forward himself to be considered for the role, even going as far as to submit his own makeup test to the producers.
F. Javier Gutierrez is directing the new version of 'The Crow' which is expected to go into production this autumn. The current script was written by Cliff Dorfman ('Warrior') who takes over from previous writers including Jesse Wigutow and Nick Cave.
Famously Brandon Lee appeared in the original adaptation of the 1989 comic book by James O’Barr which follows a man who returns from the grave after being murdered while trying to save his love. Lee died following an on-set shooting accident eight days before the film was completed.
