Fans of rubber-faces and fart jokes look away now, Warner Brothers have reportedly dropped the Farrelly Brother’s ‘Dumb And Dumber’ sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is thought to have developed some ice cold feet over the ‘Dumber’ follow-up after ‘The Incredible Burt Wonderstone’ - which also happened to feature original star Jim Carrey - failed to magic them up any money.

The good news is Carrey and co-star Daniels are still thought to be up for the return as brainless best-buds Harry and Lloyd (phew), and the Farrellys themselves are still on to direct.

Warner Bros. will now allow the project to be shopped to other studios, with Deadline reporting that ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ financiers Red Granite Pictures may be first in line to save the sequel.

We don’t care who makes it, we just want to see the real Harry and Lloyd back together on the big screen – and wash away the taste of barely related 2003 prequel ‘Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd’ *Shudder*.

Released in 1994, ‘Dumb and Dumber’ made $247 million (£158 million) from a budget of just $17 million (£11 million). It was gross-out kings the Farrelly’s (who went on to make the likes of ‘There’s Something About Mary’) first shot at directing - and along with ‘Ace Venture: Pet Detective’ and ‘The Mask’, established Carrey’s rubber-faced place on the comedy A-List.
