Snipes, star of the 'Blade' films, was convicted with three others for conspiring to defraud the United States, while Snipes was charged with six counts of willingly failing to file federal income tax returns.

He was also charged with trying to obtain fraudulent tax refunds using a 'tax protester' theory, which argues that the domestic income of US residents is not taxable.

Snipes will remain under house arrest until July 19, according to AP.

It's not known when Snipes might be resuming his film career, though his most recent work, a fantasy horror called 'Gallowwalkers' in which he stars as a cursed gunman whose victims return as zombie warriors, was picked up for international distribution at the beginning of the year.
