Cult comedy actors Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Hays parody biggest hit for Wisconsin tourism commercial.
Classic movie comedy spoofed in a tourism ad? Surely you can’t be serious…
‘Airplane!’ stars Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Hays have popped up in a brilliant TV spot for Travel Wisconsin, spoofing their own classic film.
The 30-second commercial is even directed by Wisconsin natives David and Jerry Zucker – the comedy genius brothers behind the 1980 movie, as well as the classic ‘The Naked Gun’ trilogy.

Former NBA star Abdul-Jabbar, who played co-pilot Roger Murdock, has recently appeared in TV shows from ‘Scrubs’ to ‘New Girl’, and as a contestant on the US network version of diving game show ‘Splash!’.
Ted Striker star Hays’ other credits including starring in the family favourite ‘Homeward Bound’ films, and a cameo in the spoof ‘Superhero Movie’ back in 2008. He was also the voice of Iron Man in the memorable 90s animated series.
