Al Pacino And Anthony Hopkins Thriller Misconduct Makes Less Than £100 At UK Box Office

There was a time when Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins joining forces on the big screen would have been a big, attention-grabbing deal, but their latest film ‘Misconduct’ has proven a massive flop.

Over its debut weekend at the UK box office, the legal thriller directed by Shintaro Shimosawa made just £97.00, making an average of £19.40 per screen on average (via Guardian).

Poor reviews and an extremely-limited release contributed to the film’s failure.'Misconduct’ was only shown at a handful of regional Reel cinemas in locations like Bunley and Kidderminster.

Crucially however, it was also released digitally and to streaming services alongside its cinema release, which may help it slightly and at the very least push its box office haul over a ton.

The film follows an young lawyer played by Josh Duhamel who becomes embroiled in a case of corruption and blackmail after taking on a big case a pharmaceutical company.

Alongside Pacino and Hopkins, the film also stars Malin Akerman, Julia Stiles, Alice Eve and Byung-hun Lee.

'Misconduct’ currently has an 8% rating on review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. Wendy Ide of The Observer said: “It’s so hilariously inept that it’s almost worth watching,” while Benjamin Lee of The Guardian describes Pacino’s performance as “hammier than a hog roast”.
