The trade mag also announced that Colm Meaney (‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’) and Sean Pertwee (‘Event Horizon’) will join the cast.

Shooting will start this month on location in Norfolk, around Cromer and Sheringham.

Sheringham mayor Doug Smith told EDP24: "The film crew will spend two days on Cromer Pier before spending one afternoon in Sheringham.”

The film, directed by ‘Father Ted’ helmer Declan Lowney, will also feature a car chase that sees Partridge pursued by a convoy of police cars and ambulances, from Norwich to Cromer.

The release date of Alan Partridge: The Movie is provisionally 16 August 2013.
