Annabelle 2 Trailer Arrives: The Dreaded Doll Is Back

The creepiest doll of them all is back in action. (Well, maybe that’s not the most appropriate way of putting it given we never see her move, but you get the point.)

Yes, ‘Annabelle 2’ is on its way, and Warner Bros and New Line Cinema have released the first teaser trailer for the supernatural sequel, which you can watch above.

Having introduced the haunted children’s toy (modelled on the subject of a real-life haunting case) in James Wan’s 2013 horror ‘The Conjuring,’ spin-off movie ‘Annabelle’ followed in 2014. It proved a hit, scaring up $257 million (approx £194 million) at the global box office.

Small wonder, then, that a second outing for ‘Annabelle’ got a green light, this time with ‘Lights Out’ director David F Sandberg (pictured below) calling the shots.

This brief trailer doesn’t give away much plot-wise, but we’re told the film centres on “a dollmaker and his wife” who have lost their young daughter.

Several years later, the couple “welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle. “

The cast includes Stephanie Sigman (“Spectre”), Talitha Bateman (“The 5th Wave”), Lulu Wilson (upcoming “Ouija 2,” “Deliver Us from Evil”), Philippa Anne Coulthard (“After the Dark”), Grace Fulton (“Badland”), Lou Lou Safran (“The Choice”), Samara Lee (“Fox Catcher,” “The Last Witch Hunter”), Anthony LaPaglia (TV’s “Without a Trace”) and Miranda Otto (Showtime’s “Homeland,” “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy).

James Wan returns as producer alongside Peter Safran, whilst ‘Annabelle’ screenwriter Gary Dauberman is also back on script duty.

New Line Cinema will release ‘Annabelle 2’ worldwide on 19 May 2017.
