Avengers: Infinity War Could Feature 67 Characters

If you thought the ‘Avengers’ films had a lot of characters, you ain’t seen nothing yet…

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ directors Anthony and Joe Russo have revealed that the upcoming Marvel sequel will be even bigger than before… and could feature up to sixty-seven characters.

“We have so many characters we’re dealing with,” said Joe Russo during the Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con… rushing to his brother’s defence after he mistakenly referred to Agent Carter as ‘Sharon’ instead of Peggy.

“We’re breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War,” he explained. “We have a board with 67 characters on it. You have to forgive him.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean we can expect 67 Marvel heroes in the upcoming Marvel ensemble movie… but even with villains and minor characters included, a total count of 67 does seem like rather a lot.

But then, the Avengers have a pretty big fight ahead of them.

The two-part ‘Infinity War’ will see Marvel’s Avengers face their biggest threat yet – the mad Titan known as Thanos.

Thanos has so far appeared in ‘Avengers Assemble’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ in post-credits scenes… as well as playing a significant role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.

Originally appearing in the comic books way back in 1973, Thanos has become a recurring villain in the Marvel universe… and it’s his ever-present quest for the Infinity Stones which has made it to the big screen.

Along with the Infinity Gauntlet, the stones grant Thanos a variety of god-like powers… and with the stones cropping up throughout the Marvel universe, fans will already know that the entire film franchise has been building towards this event.

And it might take an army of superheroes to take him on.

Of course, the actual ‘Avengers’ line-up remains a bit of mystery… and with ‘Civil War’ on the horizon, we could be faced with some pretty big changes. But then, if Earth is going to go up against the mad Titan, it’s going to need every hero it can find.

And let’s face it – Thanos might even bring a few friends.

Will it really mean 67 characters appear in ‘Infinity War’? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But it sounds as though it’s going to be Marvel’s biggest movie yet.

‘Avengers: Infinity War Part One’ heads to cinemas on 27 April 2018.
