Batman V Superman: ‘Sad Affleck’ Video Goes Viral
If you caught Yahoo! Movies UK’s recent video interview with the stars of ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ you’ll have seen the actors and their director respond to the mixed critical response the film has inspired.
However, at least one viewer of the interview was taken less by what Henry Cavill had to say on the matter than how tight-lipped his co-star Ben Affleck was - and how sad he looked at the same time.
As a result, we have this…
Setting Affleck’s percieved mournfullness to the tones of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound of Silence, this video from Youtube user Sabconth has goen down a storm on social media.
At the time of writing it sits at almost 849,000 views, with over 22,000 likes (UPDATE: on Saturday 26 March it’s close to 7 million views). It’s also inspired a slew of imitations already.
Is the Batman actor genuinely sad, and if so is he right to be? It’s perhaps ironic that, after the outcry that greeted his casting (not to mention that of Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg), the general critical consensus seems to be that, while the film is flawed, there’s nothing especially wrong with any of the performances.
Of course, you can see for yourself by getting out to see ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ in a cinema near you now.
