Panthera Britannia, also known as Panthera Britannia Declassified, explores the UK's wildlife, particularly the notion of big cats that the documentary claims are a major feature of the British countryside.

The film has stirred viewers over claims the documentary has taken the "clearest ever" photo of a big cat in the UK, apparently showing evidence such animals do roam in the wild.

The film is likewise available on Apple TV to rent and buy for the same price.

Panthera Britannia Declassified is a documentary directed by Matthew Everett, and it stars Cliff Barackman, Ken Gerhard, Kelci Saffery as they explore the alleged phenomenon of big cats roaming the UK.

As well as examining the alleged history of the predators in the British countryside through first-hand accounts, it also features a thorough investigation into photographic and DNA evidence.

Tim Whittard, producer of the film, said: "The documentary is predominantly data driven. We used real science and real experts, and tried to be as objective and analytical as possible.

"The research process for this show was intensive and exhaustive, and took us thousands of hours in various archives, libraries, museums, and laboratories, as well as in the field and meeting hundreds of eyewitnesses.

"The result is a mind-blowing voyage of discovery for viewers, which really takes this forward as serious zoological issue."

It is certainly a subject that the documentary creators have worked before, as they have also made the films Britain's Big Cat Mystery and the pilot for Cat Hunters: The Search for the Beast of Exmoor.
