Confirmed: Man Of Steel 2 In Development
It looks as though ‘Man of Steel’ is getting a sequel after all.
During an interview with Newsweek, Henry Cavill’s manager Danny Garcia confirmed that Warner Bros. is moving forward with a ‘Man of Steel’ sequel… and it’s in development.
“Henry has a big appetite,” he explained. “We’ve been in a five-month period of time where he’s re-strategizing, acquiring property [for production company Promethean], he’s filming [Justice League] now, he’s in development for the Superman standalone… he’s beginning to expand that world.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time ‘Man of Steel’ has been tipped for a sequel.
Just last month, The Wrap reported that another ‘Man of Steel’ movie was on its way, with the project moving to active development. That now seems to have been confirmed by Henry Cavill’s manager… so we can expect more solo Superman antics in the near future.
“Despite Superman’s battle with Batman, DC has been silent on a sequel to ‘Man of Steel’ featuring Superman solo, leading many frustrated fanboys to believe that another film wasn’t going to happen. But a person close to the project told TheWrap that Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.”
But when will it happen?
After announcing their superhero slate, Warner Bros. revealed they had left room for both Batman and Superman solo movies, with both now confirmed to be in active production. It’s no secret that Batman is a massive priority for the studio after such a positive response to Ben Affleck’s casting following ‘Batman V Superman’.
And that may mean it’ll be some time before Superman gets another solo film.
After all, there’s ‘Justice League’ in the works, too… as well as an entire slate of other DC superhero movies. But with another Superman film reportedly a priority, perhaps this means we’ll see him round out DC’s efforts after ‘The Flash’ and ‘Aquaman’ films.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s good news for Superman fans.
